Surrogacy is an arrangement in which a woman (the surrogate) carries and gives birth to a child for another person or couple who are unable to do so themselves. There are two main types of surrogacy: Traditional Surrogacy: In this arrangement, the surrogate is the biological mother of the child. She is artificially inseminated with the sperm of the intended father or a sperm donor. In this case, the surrogate's egg is used. Gestational Surrogacy: In this case, the surrogate is not biologically related to the child. The embryo is created using the eggs and sperm of the intended parents (or donors) through in vitro fertilization (IVF). The surrogate carries the pregnancy but has no genetic link to the child. Surrogacy can be a life-changing option for people facing infertility, same-sex couples, or single individuals who want to have children. It's a complex process that typically involves legal, ethical, and medical considerations, as well as a strong relationship between the intended parents and the surrogate.
